How to Monitor Traffic Flow

LiDAR is particularly good at obtaining high-precision spatial data in complex environments, supporting multi-target tracking, and is an important part of the intelligent traffic system.

4. GPS and Floating Car Data

By collecting GPS data from taxis, buses, or private cars, the driving paths and speed changes of vehicles can be analyzed, thus calculating the overall traffic flow of the road network. This method has a wide coverage, high update frequency, and can reflect the dynamic traffic conditions, widely used in navigation software and smart traffic platforms.

5. Wireless Sensor Network and Internet of Things Technology

In recent years, with the development of Internet of Things technology, wireless sensors have been widely used in the field of traffic monitoring. These sensors can be deployed on the roadside or integrated into intelligent traffic lights, realizing 24/7, automated real-time monitoring of traffic flow.
